Learning To Hang On!

Well, I was out front with the pack this race. In fact I came across the loop in 1st place for 2 laps. I thought since I know the course pretty good I could hang on, BUUUTTT, the mud.... aghhh the mud just fried my legs. Today I think I got beat from the lack of training early on in the season. I know, I know that endurance thing again. Some of the regular podium guys in my class have a few more years of racing under their belts and more base miles coming into the season. Oh, did I mention all of them can HAUL THE MAIL...this always makes for a fast (heart high in your chest) type of race!

Going into this weekend I knew I would be able to hang out in the pack. Being a shorter technical course...my style. The rain totally ruined my game plan and everyone elses for that matter. We all slipped, fell, and just tried to stay up right the first lap or so. I ended up sitting 3rd coming home about 2-3 minutes back I think. I haven't seen the final results yet. My first top 5 finish.

Congrats to TSB for having a great day despite the shitty weather. It was great to see a lot of the non-regulars make the Ruby race. This turned out to be a good time as the day went on! I got to meet a few new MTB junkies!

Good job on your race and the course. Personally I like the mud as it is no longer a race of just speed. Riding technique and race prep become more important as well as mentally being prepared for the challenge.

Great job Todd!

You are taking your racing to another level and that is just awesome to watch. Maybe I will actually get to see it in person before the end of the season...

Hi, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sending me some pix of your Qball and a build spec. I own one as well and I have a feature on my blog about Qballs.
